Adrian Hinchliffe

Adrian HinchliffeAdrian joined the coaching staff at Leeds International Pool in 1992 joining us from Bradford Esprit, where he had coached a number of young divers to success.  Adrian became head coach of City of Leeds Diving Club in 1994 and has helped to take the club from strength to strength.  He's coached a number of very successful divers who have achieved international honours:

Gavin Brown - Junior World Bronze Medallist 1999
Sally Freeman - Olympian 2000
Tandi Gerrard - Olympian 2004
Callum Johnstone - Junior World Bronze Medallist 2004
Tandi Gerrard, Rebecca Gallantree, Callum Johnstone - Commonwealth Games 2006

Adrian has developed the profile of the club as a centre of excellence for elite performance divers and has been innovative in creating a national competitive environment for different levels of diving with the annual White Rose Novice Invitational (inaugural event in 1997) which also trialled the first circuit style event in 2005, Northern Cross Age Group/Senior event bringing opportunity for divers to compete in simultaneous events to get a flavour of European Junior Championships and Knock Out Finals introduced in 2007.
