Edwin was born December 18, 1966 in Holland and is a retired diver from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics: 1988 and 1992.
Edwin's best performance was winning the world title in the men's 1 metres springboard event at the 1991 World Aquatics Championships in Perth, Australia, for which he was named Dutch Sportsman of the Year (1991) alongside boxer Arnold Vanderlyde. His sister, Daphne was also a well-known international diver.
